A few months back, in that brief interlude between lockdowns, the French sports channel RMC got in touch and asked if they could film one of our training sessions. They were in the process of making a documentary about Roy Keane and were hoping to include some hurling action to give their French viewers a taste of what it was like growing up in the northside of Cork city. On a typically gloomy October morning, the film-makers arrived up to the Tank Field and shot some great footage. Journalist Eoin O’Callaghan, author of the book Keane:Origins, which focuses on Keane’s early life, narrated the action.
